The game launched into Early Access on Steam in July 2025, made its console debut in January 2026, and releases in full as v1.0 in July 2026. Reaching full release is the most significant milestone for MAVRIX to date. After a year of community-driven development through Early Access, the full release brings a wave of new competitive modes, fresh content, and major technical improvements.
MAVRIX is published by Cascade Interactive and developed by Third Kind Games. The game not only carries Matt Jones's branding, but also reflects his direct involvement - the British professional mountain biker co-founded its publisher, Cascade Interactive, and served as one of the project's lead biking consultants.
"Reaching 1.0 and launching on Game Pass is a huge moment for us." - Matt Jones
Head-to-Head Multiplayer: How It Works
The biggest addition in v1.0 is direct competition. The open world spans 100 square kilometres, with over 30 official trails split into racetracks where the fastest time wins, and slopestyle trails on which riders are scored for stomping big tricks - both designed around their real-world mountain bike disciplines.
During early access, from July 2025 to July 2026, players competed individually with times and scores ranked on global leaderboards. For the 1.0 launch, head-to-head competition comes to life - in head-to-head mode, up to 5 riders matchmake to any trail.
For racing, first to the bottom wins, with bar-to-bar action guaranteed as players view the race in first person, third person, or even by taking advantage of the rear-facing camera. Crashing does not end the race - riders restart from the previous checkpoint, rewarding clean, consistent runs.
The two bike classes each suit different trails:
| Bike Type | Strengths | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Downhill | More suspension, high-speed stability, big impacts | Racetracks |
| Enduro | Lighter, faster acceleration, obstacle hops | Technical trails |
In slopestyle head-to-head, players compete directly against multiple riders on racetracks and slopestyle trails, with race commentary from legendary Red Bull commentator Rob Warner. The trail is split into sectors, with the rider winning the most sectors crowned champion.

MAVRIX Cups and Weekend Events
Alongside head-to-head, the full release includes all content from Early Access, including the MAVRIX Cup - the game's limited-time competitive event series. MAVRIX Cups run every weekend and carry their own exclusive leaderboards for both racing and slopestyle, with rare cosmetic prizes only obtainable through Cup results.
The 1.0 build also features Daily Rivals challenges to earn XP boosts, nine race trails, and eleven slopestyle trails, freeride lines, and a time-of-day setting.
Game Pass, Play Anywhere, and Pricing
MAVRIX joins Xbox Game Pass on launch day for the first time, including Xbox Play Anywhere, so members can ride seamlessly across Xbox console, PC, and handhelds such as the ROG Ally. Progress and saves carry across Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and compatible handhelds.
For non-Game Pass subscribers, MAVRIX retails digitally for $39.99 USD / £29.95 GBP and features full localisation in English, Chinese, French, Italian, German, and Spanish.
For deal hunters on Game Pass, this is a straightforward pickup at no extra cost. Those buying outright should compare key shop prices above - the global launch and simultaneous multi-platform release means competitive pricing is already appearing across retailers.
