SnowRunner, the off-road trucking sim from Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment, is now available on Nintendo Switch 2. The launch was revealed during a Nintendo Direct on June 10, 2026 - the same day the game went live digitally on the platform, making it a surprise same-day release.
What's New in the Switch 2 Version
The Switch 2 edition is a technical step up from the original Nintendo Switch release. The new version delivers dynamic 1440p in TV mode, working mirrors, and further improvements. Existing owners of SnowRunner's digital version receive a free upgrade to the Switch 2 edition.
The port includes over 50 maps and more than 100 trucks accumulated through six years of Season Pass updates. Crossplay with all currently supported platforms - Steam, Epic Games Store, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series and Xbox One - is set to arrive in a few weeks when Season 18 releases on Nintendo Switch 2.

Physical Release Still to Come
Nintendo confirmed the Switch 2 port during its June 2026 Direct livestream. The digital version went live the same day, while the physical release is expected to follow separately. Crossplay will roll out when Season 18 launches on June 30, bringing a new location, new maps, vehicles, mechanics and more.

SnowRunner is a simulation game developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment. It originally launched on April 28, 2020 on Epic Games Store, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, before arriving on Nintendo Switch and Steam on May 18, 2021. The title has now reached 20 million players across all platforms.
The game puts players behind the wheel of licensed heavy trucks from manufacturers including Ford, Chevrolet and Freightliner, tasking them with hauling cargo across extreme terrain - deep mud, frozen lakes, and floodwaters - using a physics engine that models ground deformation under vehicle weight. Up to four players can tackle missions together in co-op.
